Guest Post: Free Tele-Summit ‘Is Your Website Legal?’

You have had the amazing idea for your business, splashed out a small fortune on a shiny new website or simply spent hours yourself creating it. The website is now open to the world, but is it legal? Did you even know that it had to be legal?  The answer is a big YES!! There are serious fines and implications if you do not comply with certain laws and have some key information on your website and stationery. This is regardless of whether you sell or not. For instance, if your website is not legal, you risk: Up to £500,000 fine and possible imprisonment for data protection offences A so-called “Stop Now Order” from The Office of Fair Trading and other enforcement agencies which as the name suggests, means stop business, NOW!  Stop NOW!! Copyright Brian Snelson Being asked by the courts to publish corrective statements to eliminate the continuing effects of past infringements. Bad publicity for your business as many punishments are broadcast on the enforcement agencies’ websites None of this is good for business and absolutely gutting when you have put so much time and effort into your website and all in good faith too. Most website developers are not aware of these laws either. Lest you break out in a cold sweat, fear not as I will be revealing exactly what you need to be legal and how to do it as part of a special FREE tele-summit for entrepreneurs hosted by Wendy Kerr of Corporate Crossovers on 17th Sept 2013 at 1pm. You simply register and then sit back and listen to the interviews from the comfort of your own office! There...
Thrive! TV Tip ~ Do you show the real you?

Thrive! TV Tip ~ Do you show the real you?

People buy people – we have heard that cliché a million times. [new_line] But it’s true. Especially in this competitive and recessionary world that we now live in. [new_line] Think about how you buy services – you ultimately have to know, like and trust someone before you part with your hard earned cash – right? [new_line] So it’s the same for your prospects…think about how you can add more of you and your own authentic voice in everything you do and create to market your business.[new_line] Then people can start to get to know you, and ultimately grow their trust in you so they will buy.[new_line] Your Action: Write down 10 reasons why your customer buy from you – and then ten wonderful points about what it is about you that you bring to your business that no one else has. Take these points and start to weave them into your marketing messages – your website, your promotional material, how you introduce yourself at networking meetings [new_line] Would you like a weekly burst of momentum delivered straight into your in box? Thrive TV Tip ~ Does selling turn you off?

Thrive TV Tip ~ Does selling turn you off?

Tell me, how do you really feel about selling? [new_line] Do you love it, or does the thought of asking for the order, closing the deal and squeezing the sale fill you with dread???[new_line] You are not alone! Many people I know dread selling but realise it is an essential part of their business. When you think of selling is the next logical step for someone to take with you, it takes away the dread, and the sliminess…[new_line] I like to think of marketing and sales as part of a continuum… the KNOW  –  LIKE   –  TRUST  –  BUY   continuum…. [new_line] Think about how you buy a service. First of all you have to KNOW about that person or service. Then you have to LIKE them and then you need to build up TRUST. Only then will you buy from someone. [new_line] So if you spend time building up the know, like and trust part of your marketing, the conversion to a sale will be much easier and the next logical step for someone to take with you. [new_line] Your Action: Review your marketing – are you opening with enough time and effort to increase the know, like and trust factor in your prospects before you ask for the order? Take some time to review. [new_line] Let me know how you get on![new_line] Would you like a weekly burst of momentum delivered straight into your in box? Thrive! TV Tip ~ What is your biggest business asset?

Thrive! TV Tip ~ What is your biggest business asset?

Years ago I was Brand Manager for Colgate Toothpaste. Our offices in New Zealand were directly over the factory. Every week we would have a meeting with the production staff to check on how production was going. Invariably this would include a discussion about the state of the toothpaste machine. If the toothpaste machine wasn’t producing toothpaste, we didn’t get sales. It was one of our business’s most important asset. When we run our own business, we are that toothpaste machine. Without us, our businesses wouldn’t be here. So take a moment, watch this week’s TV Tip and consider how well are you looking after your most important asset? I would love to know what you think!   Would you like a weekly burst of momentum delivered straight into your in box? Simply click on the button below, we’ll send you the latest tip each week!
